How to import LandXML data?

What is LandXML plugin?

LandXML plugin is used to import LandXML data into MAGNET Modeler model. Plugin can be accessed by LandXML icon in MAGNET Modeler user interface (see picture).

You can add new LandXML file by double clicking LandXML icon or selecting “insert” from context menu. LandXML settings dialog is opened and you can select file to import. Following data is imported from file: surfaces, breaklines, points and pipe networks. In dialog you can see which groups file contains. Each surface and pipe network creates it’s own group. You can use the "\" character in the sub group creation. You can select a material and cutting for each group.

Cutting has three modes: no cut, cut and weld and it has effect on surfaces only. If cut is selected, surface cuts holes to all other surfaces that appear before in order (upper). This means also surfaces in other LandXML files that appear before this file. If weld is selected, all other surfaces are welded to this surface. If surface is marked as “Locked”, it will not be cut or welded. Only surfaced marked as “Selected” are brought into MAGNET Modeler.

Dialog has also context sensitive menu. With it you can check or uncheck whole column and set same material or cutting for multiple rows. This is done by setting a value for one row, selecting multiple rows and from context sensitive menu selecting “Set same material” or “Set same cut mode”. Error button changes to red if there are errors in LandXML file or it consists of items that are not supported. Rows can be moved by selecting row and pressing up or down arrow.

If you have added LandXML file to MAGNET Modeler, it is shown in user interface as in picture on the right. You can edit setting by double clicking added item or selecting “settings” from context menu. Item can be deleted by pressing “delete” or selecting “remove” from context menu.
